The Samsung Galaxy S II is undoubtedly a very popular device, so it's no surprise that it's users have been very impatiently waiting for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) to make it's way to Samsung's flagship smartphone. The official Facebook page for Samsung Mobile Israel released a statement saying that the ICS update for the Galaxy S II will start rolling out to unlocked and carrier branded handsets in Israel from March 15.
While this is no solid indication of an international roll-out, It does backup the previous rumors of Samsung releasing the latest version of Android for the Galaxy S II in March.
It is likely that the role-out in the U.S. would be delayed the most as the Galaxy S II hardware has evolved from carrier to carrier. But once we have the official ICS update appear on some devices it will be only a matter of time before it reaches a device near you.
The Samsung Galaxy S II which succeeded the popular Samsung Galaxy S features up to 16GB of internal memory, an 8MP camera capable of 1080p HD video recording, a 2MP camera for video calls and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM under it's hood. With it's premium features it is arguably the king of the Android lineup for 2011.
So for now lets look toward the March 15th date and hope that Android 4.0 for the Samsung Galaxy S II makes it's first appearance. We will update you as more news develops.
