Motorola Droid Bionic receives (5.9.902) software update

Motorola has been inviting owners of the Motorola Droid Bionic to partake in one of the manufacturer's 'soak tests' which is essentially an invitation to update their devices to software version 5.9.902.  This is a minor update which brings a few improvements to the device while squashing some bugs. The change-log follows:

The VCast Music app has been removed from the device and has been replaced with the Amazon MP3 player app, Motorola's terms and conditions automatically enabled collection/location details, and a Google security patch now blocks access to changing the Home Panel icon.

Following the update and factory reset, a location consent screen will be displayed on the activation screen, and the 'Terms and Conditions' has been retitled 'Motorola Terms of Service'.

Hopefully Motorola has also fixed the data drops and crashing errors which have been affecting the handset. In any case most users will be anxiously waiting the released of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Motorola Droid Bionic, which will hopefully be the next update in line.
