The Nokia Lumia 800 has faced battery draining issues with some of it's users and Nokia promised to have a fix in the form of a software update on January 18.
With that day being here, Nokia has kept it's promise with the update, and has started rolling it out in France. All wireless providers except SFR have received the update and are deploying it to their customers. SFR should follow suite in the coming days.
The fix updates the firmware on the Nokia Lumia 800 to version 1600.2483.8106.11500 which also brings some new improvements and better wireless connectivity to the device.
Once the pilot release proves successful Nokia should continue the roll-out to other Lumia 800 users, who have nothing to do but wait patiently for now.
The Nokia Lumia 800 which is the first official Windows Phone from Nokia features a 3.7 inch display, 8MP camera, 16GB of storage and is powered by a 1.4 GHz processor. It follows the polycarbonate design of the Meego running Nokia N9 and is the European counterpart of the Nokia Lumia 900.
