HP will give their final verdict on webOS in 2 weeks

Lots of reports have been circulating around and about WebOS since HP's former CEO, Leo Apotheker announced that they will be stopping development and manufacturing for the platform. The current CEO - Meg Whitman has announced that HP will give the final word on what they are planning for the OS in the next two weeks.

The news comes from a newspaper interview Whitman gave to a French newspaper - LeFigaro:
What will you do with your operating system webOS? We should announce our decision in the next two weeks. This is not an easy decision, because we have a team of 600 people which is in limbo. We need to have another operating system.
HP also spoke about their PC department, which they even considered spinning off. Whitman stated that Apple could overtake HP if the iPad was counted in the PC category and that HP will not be able to recover until 2013.
HP probably had the best chance to overtake Apple with their TouchPad, which they decided to discontinue their tablet along with all their WebOS hardware.
