The Samsung Galaxy S II features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED touch display, an 8 megapixel camera capable of capturing 1080p HD video and it's powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor.
This guide shows you how to factory reset / wipe the Galaxy S II (Samsung Epic 4G on Sprint).
This is not a process that needs to be performed regularly, but may prove useful if you want to install custom ROMs or if you get locked out of your device.
- Switch off your device
- Remove your microSD card (optional)
- Hold Volume Up + Power buttons simultaneously until the device logo is displayed.
- Now release Power button but continue holding Volume Up button until you see the Android Recovery Menu.
- Select Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
- You can browse using the Volume Up / Volume Down buttons
- You can make your selection using the Home button.
- Select Yes to the Delete all user data option using the Home button.
- Once the wiping process is complete you will be returned to the Android System Recovery menu.
- Select Reboot system now option and wait for your device to reboot.
The first boot should take some time, but you should have successfully Factory reset / wiped your Samsung Galaxy S II.
