Samsung to supply A6 processor for next gen iOS devices

Apple and Samsung may still continue their legal battles, but Apple still sees Samsung as a 'critical business partner'. The Korean Times reports that Samsung will supply the quad-core A6 chips which are expected to power the next generation of iOS devices like the iPad 3 and the iPhone 5.

Apple has been looking at alternatives to supply the chip but have chosen to stick with Samsung's 28-nanometer processing technology. neither Samsung nor Apple have commented in regard to this information.

Rumors point towards the iPad 3 adopting the retina display from the iPhone, so LG who built the retina displays for the iPhone 4 are likely to continue to provide the display panels for the new iPad and iPhone, however LG's spokesperson Sohn Young-june declined to confirm this report.
