Run Android (4.0) Ice Cream Sandwich on your computer


Google has released the SDK of the upcoming Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which will otherwise debut on the Google Galaxy Nexus in November. If you want to try out ICS right now you can do so right now using the emulator which is available alongside the SDK

A step by step guide on downloading the SDK and installing the Emulator for Android 4.0 follows. If you prefer you can also view a step by step video courtesy of PocketNow:
  1. Download the SDK: http://bit.ly/1IsNM2
  2. Extract the Zip to a folder on your desktop
  3. Click SDK Manager.exe
  4. Put a check in the box for Android 4.0, click Install Packages on bottom right
  5. Go back into the Android folder on your desktop, open AVD Manager.exe
  6. Click New
  7. Give it a name, change the target to Android 4.0
  8. Click Create AVD
  9. Hit Start, wait five minutes
