Asus Chairman reveals Asus Transformer Prime

Asus Chairman Johnny Shih revealed the upcoming successor to the Asus Eee Pad Transformer during an interview with Walt Mossberg from All Things D. The next generation of the device will be known as the Asus Transformer Prime and will be officially announced on November 9th.

The Transformer Prime builds upon the success of the original Transformer which took the tablet market by storm with it's optional dockable keyboard. While the Transformer was in an iPad dominated tablet market, it still did quite well in the Android division. A teaser video was revealed by Asus yesterday.

The Transformer Prime will be just 8.3mm thin and will be powered by a quad-core NVIDA Tegra 3 processor. The device will run the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will launch during the first quarter of 2012.
