Google Wallet signs with Visa, Amex and Discover

Google recently launched their Google Wallet service for Sprint Nexus 4G customers with Citi MasterCard credit cards. While one credit card service would have not been enough to get popularity, Google has now also signed up with Visa, Amex and Discover.

By broadening their service among other card holders, the service can now reach a wider audience even though it will be restricted to one carrier at this point.

The Sprint customers who own a Nexus S 4G are eligible for this service, and will require Android 2.3.4 with NFC enabled in order to use this service. The Google Wallet Update was sent to Sprint customers OTA yesterday and they will be required to activate their credit cards.

Until the other credit card companies are ready to work with the Google Wallet service it will continue to support only CitiBank MasterCards and Google will give $10 credit to those who set up this service before the end of the year.
