Samsung Galaxy S II announced for the U.S.
The Samsung Galaxy S II has finally been announced today for the U.S. market during a Samsung event which took place today in NYC. The device will be made available through AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile with a Verizon version noticeably missing from the mix. One notable change on the U.S. versions of the device is that the iPhone like home button which we saw on the Europe variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II has been replaced with the traditional Android buttons.
The Samsung Galaxy S II for AT&T of the device will feature a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 4G - HSPA+, a 1650 mAh battery and will be available on September 18th.
The Sprint version will have a 4.52 inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a 1800 mAh batter and 3G/4G hotspot capability. The device will be titled the Samsung Epic 4G Touch and will be available starting September 16th with a contract price of $199
Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile will also feature a 4.52 inch Super AMOLED display. The device is said to be available sometime in fall.
