Nokia N8 receives camera software update

The Nokia N8 may still arguably have the best camera on a smartphone but is looked past because of the Symbian OS under it's hood. Nokia is however not ready to give up on their flagship camera and has been working hard to release updates on their Symbian platform to favor the device.

The Symbian Anna update which was released last week offers some great improvements which include continuous auto-focus and 30fps HD video capture. We can be sure that the N8 will continue to see more updates through Symbian Belle which may go public in a few days.

The new app which has been made available through Nokia Beta Labs could be a glimpse of things to come with Symbian Belle. It offers a new user interface with easy access to shooting modes, smooth video capture and macro mode (10 cm) while video recording.

You can download the update from Nokia Beta Labs here. Please note that you will require Symbian Anna in order to install this update. You will have to sign into Beta Labs with your Nokia account in order to download this update.
