How much does your iPhone really cost to build ?

The iPhone is easily one of the most popular smartphones in the market today. Every year when Apple releases their newest model people wait in long lines get their hands on the latest smartphone which defines the path to it's competitors. But have you ever wondered how much it costs Apple to build one of these devices.

A team of industry analysts at Bloomberg have estimated that the iPhone 5 would hypothetically cost around $270 to produce. This cost includes software, research and shipping. While it is not clear how they have calculated the value since the iPhone 5 has still to be released we assume this is based on past products and trends in prices over the last few years.

Bloomberg has still to make this information available publicly and would probably do so after the release of the iPhone 5, so look forward to an update from us once it is done.

If this estimate is correct Apple gets a profit of over $350 in the U.S. for each iPhone and probably more in other countries around the world. Probably something worth thinking about when you buy your next iPhone.
