[Mac app] Safari updated (5.1)


The Apple Safari web browser has been updated to version 5.1. the update comes following the public release of OS X Lion.

You can download this update by using the Apple Software updater on your Windows or Mac computer or by using this link.

The following features are available in the latest version of Safari:

  • Reading List - You can add web pages and links to your reading list which can be browsed at a later time.
  • Resume - The Resume feature has been introduced in the general pane under preferences. You can use this to resume your last browsing session on Safari.
  • Improved Privacy - The new privacy pane under Safari preferences allows you to easily remove data which websites leave behind on your system.
  • Overall improved stability and responsiveness with new process architecture.
  • Private Autofill - Safari allows you to quickly fill forms, while protecting your personal data.
  •  Find option - The find feature has been expanded with more parameters.
  • Drag and Drop downloads - You can simply drag a file you want to download onto your desktop for an easy download method.
  • Advanced Web Technologies - Safari introduces support for full-screen web pages, media caching with the HTML5 application cache, MathML, Web Open Font Format. CSS3 Text Emphasis, Window.onError and Formatted XML files.
  • New Extension APIs - Developers can take advantage of the new Extension support for popovers, menus, new event classes and interaction with Reader.
