While Nokia has greatly improved on Symbian in Symbian^3, it still has it's set of flaws, If your Nokia N8 faces data corruption of application problems your can perform a soft reset which should have your device running smoothly again.
But your for that random case where the soft reset does not solve your problem you can require to perform a full format (hard reset)
Follow this three step process to perform a hard reset on your Nokia N8:
(Remember to backup your data before you proceed)
- Turn off your smartphone.
- Hold 'Volume Down Key' + 'Camera Key' + 'Menu Key' together and press the 'Power Button' until you feel the device vibrate.
- Keep holding the keys until you see the display switch on
That's it. Your device should be working as good as new. This process will reset all the applications to their original state. You will have to update your software once again and restore your settings from the backup.
[NOTE] If you have any issues will Ovi Maps after the update download the latest version from here. Issues with Ovi Store were also reported. But should be resolved once you update your apps.
