Nokia 301 - Hands On Video

The Nokia 301 is a new feature phone which runs Series 40 which borrows some design cues from the Lumia smartphones. The device features a 2.4 inch display, 256 MB of storage which can be expanded through microSD, FM radio and a 3.2 megapixel camera.

One of the best features it has to offer is its camera which offers support for features like voice-guided self-portraits and other neat tweaks. You can also take photos in a quick sequence with burst mode and even compose panoramic shots. While these features aren't in par with smartphones it is still above the traditional experience offered on feature phones.

The other features of the Nokia 301 include 3G HSPA connectivity,  a wide array of color choices and a fairly solid battery life. You are also presented with apps like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter which should take care of most of your social needs.

Nokia Asha 309 - Video Review

700-nokia-asha-309_01
The Nokia Asha 309 is an affordable feature phone which has a 3 inch touch screen, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and microSD storage. The device costs between $105 – $110 which makes it quite affordable. But with low end smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Pocket costing around the same, we don’t see why a user would settle for a feature phone like the Asha 309.

Nokia’s issue here is that Windows Phones cannot achieve the same low prices as Android devices and the Asha series continues its struggle to keep their feature phone lineup alive.

If you select Nokia’s S40 running Asha 309, you will have to settle for using java apps and do without social sharing options we are all quite used to. But Nokia’s brand name is sometimes enough to keep it going and we hope they have a long term plan to reach out to this price range.
