Apple Mac OS X 10.8.4 Mountain Lion released


Apple has released the OS X 10.8.4 Mountain Lion update which comes with several bug fixes and performance improvements to the platform. This update has been in beta for some time despite only bringing improvements and no new features. In any case bug fixes are always welcome on any platform and we recommend that you get this update as soon as you can.

If you have a supported device you can download the update for free through the Apple App Store if you have OS X Mountain Lion installed.

Apple Mac OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion released to developers

Apple has released the first beta of Mac OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion to developers who have enrolled in Apple’s OS X developer program. If you are a registered developer you can download the latest beta, by heading over to the Mac Dev Center.

The release carries build number 12D32 and follows a release of a new iOS 6.1 beta for the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV. Developers are required to download and install the OS X Software Seed Configuration Unity before they are given access to the 10.8.3 beta.

Messages Beta for OS X Lion will expire on December 14

Before Apple released OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, they released a preview of their Messages app for OS X 10.7 Lion users. The app has since evolved and been released with Mountain Lion and it doesn't look like Apple is willing to let OS X Lion users enjoy the Messages app for much longer.

Apple Mac OS X 10.8.2 now available for download, features Facebook integration and more


Alongside today’s release of Apple iOS 6.0 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, Apple has also released an update to Mac OS X Mountain Lion. The new version 10.8.2 fixes a battery issue on MacBooks and brings some new likes like Facebook integration, Game Center enhancements along with several little tweaks and improvements.

Apple OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion released to AppleCare Specialists


As the release of Apple OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion draws closer, a report suggests that the newest Apple desktop operating system is being seeded to specialists at Apple Care.

The build which is being seeded (12A269) appears to be the same build number as the Gold Master version of Mountain Lion which was released to developers through the Mac Developer Program a couple of weeks ago.

Apple OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) Gold Master, now available for download


During the keynote, Apple promised that OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) will be ready for the public by July and it looks like Apple may be very close to completing the latest version of OS X as Mountain Lion Golden Master (GM) is now available for download to developers registers in the Mac Developer Program.


The GM build which can be compared to a Release Candidate in Microsoft’s terms indicates that the software, or operating system in this case is near completion.

Apple announces OS X Mountain Lion

It was just last summer Apple introduced Mac OS X Lion to the world and now they are getting set to bring the next iteration to their desktop operating system. The new version titled Mountain Lion will continue to borrow it's features inspired by iOS in the iPad.

The new version of OS X will be available in the summer of 2012, and Apple plans to continue it's yearly iterations, and we imagine that OS XI (11) will bring a universal operating system for iOS and Mac OS devices similar to what Microsoft has planned for Windows 9.
