Messages Beta for OS X Lion will expire on December 14

Before Apple released OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, they released a preview of their Messages app for OS X 10.7 Lion users. The app has since evolved and been released with Mountain Lion and it doesn't look like Apple is willing to let OS X Lion users enjoy the Messages app for much longer.

Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 released to developers


Apple released Mac OS X 10.7.4 to the public back in May and we didn't expect to see another version of OS X Lion before Apple releases Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion this July.

But it turns out that Apple has another iteration in the works, and they have released OS X 10.7.5 to developers.

Mac OS X Lion updated (10.7.4)


Apple has released an update to OS X Lion (10.7.4) which offers general operating system fixes which include improved stability, compatibility, and security for your Mac.

You can download the update directly on your Mac by clicking the Apple Logo and selecting Software Update or wait till you receive the automatic notification asking you to update. The detailed change-log of OS X 10.7.4 follows.

Apple OS X (10.7.2) Lion released with iCloud support

Apple has released the final version of OS X (10.7.2) Lion to the public. The new version of OS X comes with support with iCloud and allows you to sync the data on your computers with your iOS 5 devices and OS X Lion computers.

Apple OS X (10.7.2) Lion build 11C57 Released

Apple has released build 11C57 of OS X Lion 10.7.2 to developers who are apart of Apple's OS X developer program. This release comes just days after the last release as Apple gets geared to have OS X Lion integrated with iCloud ready for public consumption.

Apple OS X (10.7.2) Lion build 11C40 with iCloud Beta 8 released

Apple has released the latest version of  OS X 10.7.2 Lion build 11C40 for developers and it features Safari 5.1.1 and iCloud Beta 8 for OS X.
Because iCloud has been deeply integrated with OS X, Lion users will have to download the latest version of the OS when it is made available in order to enjoy the features offered by Apple's cloud service.

Apple OS X (10.7.1) Lion updated

Apple OS X Lion was publicly released back on July 20 and Apple has been working on an update (Apple OS X 10.7.2) which will bring iCloud integration to their desktop/laptop operating system.

Meanwhile Apple released an interim update which fixes bugs and issues on the original release of OS X Lion.

Apple released OS X (Lion) 10.7 a couple of weeks ago, which includes 250 new features and enhancements. The new operating system comes two years since the last major release and borrows from the success of iOS adding innovative and useful features to the desktop operating system.

The new features include LaunchPad which simulates the applications grid interface on your iPhone and your iPad; Enhanced multi-touch support which allows your to access your operating system with a series of new swipes and gestures; A new version of FileVault which encrypts external drives; Resume which allows you to continue your work where you left off, even if you switch off your computer; Autosave and Versions which ensures you never forget to save your data and maintains your file versions allowing you to switch back to an old version of your file.

Apple OS X (10.7.2) Lion to feature iCloud

Apple released OS X Lion just five days ago and it looks like they are already preparing an update for their new operating system. The update which has been reported is OS X 10.7.2 which is supposed to add support for iCloud.
The version of Lion which was shipped is still integrated with MobileMe and we would expect a OS update to give iCloud features to Apple's desktop operating system.

Apple OS X (10.7) Lion available for download

Today Apple has released OS X (10.7) Lion. This update is available to users who have OS X (10.6) Snow Leopard and can be obtained through the Mac App Store.This update is aimed at bringing features which were made popular in iOS to the desktop/laptop platform in OS X. Apple OS X 10.7 was first announced during a special Apple event "Back to the Mac" and further previewed during WWDC 2011.

WWDC 2011 - Mac OS X Lion

Apple introduced the next iteration of OS X back in October and demonstrated the many popular features of iOS which would make it's way to Apple's desktop platform.

During the WWDC 2011 Apple re-introduced the progress they have made with OS X Lion and promised to have it available July, for download from the Mac App Store for $29.99.

WWDC 2011 - OS X Lion, iOS 5, iCloud and more...

The WWDC 2011 keynote has just concluded, and Steve Jobs was present to unveil some exciting things to come from Apple:

OS X 10.7 Lion is the 8th iteration of OS X and brings the best features of iOS to laptops and desktop Macs. Lion will have over 3000 new features and will be available exclusively through the Mac App Store for only $30. OS X 10.7 features include full screen apps, improved email and safari browser, Air drop file sharing, improved auto save, Mission Control and the integrated Mac App Store.

Mac OS X Lion update will be availble through Mac App Store

AppleInsider reports that Apple is planning to release their upcoming OS X 10.7 Lion primarily through the Mac App Store. The Mac App Store allows users to buy and install apps on their Macs running OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), offering a similar environment to iOS on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Apple introduces Mac OS X 10.7 and new MacBook Air

At an event held today by Apple several new technologies including a new version of Mac OS, iLife '11 and Facetime for Mac were revealed along with a refresh to the MacBook Air lineup.
