Nokia Amber update changelog and availability


The Nokia Amber update has started rolling out globally to Windows Phone 8 devices alongside Microsoft's own GDR2 improvements. The update is being pushed out in waves to the , , , , , , , and

The first waves which are being delivered over-the-air (OTA) have already started appearing on Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 handsets around the world, with the Lumia 521, Lumia 810 and Lumia 928 in the US also partaking in the latest Windows Phone software.

Nokia Lumia 810 for T-Mobile receives GDR2 and Amber software updates

The discontinued yet popular Nokia Lumia 810 for T-Mobile is now receiving the GDR2 (Microsoft) and Amber (Nokia) updates alongside the budget friendly Nokia Lumia 521. The GDR2 (10327/8) update from Microsoft will bring new features like FM radio, call and SMS filters, improvements for Xbox Music and Internet Explorer, Data Sense, a resolution to the Other storage issue and more. Meanwhile the Amber component of the update comes from Nokia and adds new Nokia based features like Smart Cam, double-tap to wake, flip to silence and many more improvements.

Nokia Lumia 810 receives "accessories" software update

Nokia’s Accessories app is a versatile companion for all your Nokia accessories, enabling you to make the most of all their great features. You can monitor and manage battery life, control all of their settings and give them a name.The update which carriers version 2.0.5.3 and is around 4MB in size.

The accessories settings update should also be available to other Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 handsets through the Windows Phone Store.

Nokia Lumia 810 - First Impressions

Nokia_Lumia_810_TMobThe Nokia Lumia 810 is a Windows Phone 8 device which is exclusive to T-Mobile is the United States. The device has a 4.3 inch WVGA display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics which is capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls, Qi-based wireless charging and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

The device is available in the exclusively through T-Mobile in the U.S. and generally costs $150 with a two-year contract. The Lumia 810 is quite similar to the Nokia Lumia 820 on AT&T and Nokia Lumia 822 on Verizon, but has specific features which set it apart.

We were fortunate to get our hands on a Lumia 810 and we will be providing a full review of the device. Meanwhile we have put together our first impressions of each of the features of this device to help anyone who is hoping to purchase this device as their next smartphone.

The device is generally sold at $149.99 on contract, but if you sign up for a device on the carrier’s website before December 27th you wont have to pay a cent to get your hands on it. This deal is only available online and not through the T-Mobile stores.

Nokia Lumia 810 receives a software update to improve audio

The update which carriers version 1.2.1.1 and is around 1MB in size is expected to bring improvements to the Nokia Lumia equalizer and the Dolby Headphones feature.

The update will bring an audio leveling feature which will set the same playback volume for all music and video tracks in your collection.

This update should also be available to other Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices on various carriers.

Nokia Lumia 810 receives a software update to improve the display and touch

We previously reported that this update was made available for the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 on AT&T and it looks like it has also made its way to the Lumia 810. The update which carriers version 1.1.2.4 and is around 1MB in size is expected to improve the performance of the touch sensitivity of the displays.

Once you have installed the update you can set your display to be highly sensitive which will allow you to interact with your display even if you are wearing gloves. This will definitely be useful if you live in a cold climate which requires you to wear gloves often.

Nokia releases an update for its Super Sensitive touchscreen on the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820



One of the biggest advantages of the new Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 820 is its Super Sensitive touchscreen which allows you to interact with the display even if you are wearing gloves. Nokia has now released a minor system update Display + Touch version 1.1.2.4 for its Lumia  Windows Phone 8 smartphones which is said to improve the performance of the touch sensitivity of the displays.

Nokia Lumia 810 receives a software update to improve calls and sms

The update which carriers version 1.2.2.24 and is around 1MB in size is expected to improve connectivity between your cellular network and your device.

After downloading this update, you can enable Call waiting and set your character set through the network+ setting under your Settings app.

This update should also be available to other Windows Phone 8 devices including Nokia Lumia handsets on various carriers.

The Lumia 810 is available in the U.S. through T-Mobile and is a great mid-level entry into the Windows Phone platform. The device doesn't feature the vibrant color choices available on the other Lumia devices like the Nokia Lumia 820 or the Nokia Lumia 920, but offers the same user experience which you can quickly learn to love.

Nokia Lumia 810 coming to T-Mobile

Nokia and T-Mobile have announced that they will be releasing an exclusive Windows Phone 8 device on the T-Mobile network – the Nokia Lumia 810. The device is said to feature a 4.3 inch touch display, an 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, a secondary 1.2 megapixel camera for video calls and an enhanced navigation experience with Nokia City Lens, Nokia Drive and Nokia Transport.

The device is said to be available on the T-Mobile network in the coming weeks
