[Guide] How to flash / install CyanogenMod 10.1 on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9

The first full size Android tablets were introduced running  which was later succeeded by . Android ICS fixed a lot of the issues in Honeycomb while combining the Google’s smartphone and tablet platforms and in this proceed it made Honeycomb devices.

One device which got caught up in this redundancy was the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 (P7310) which was the Korean manufacturer’s flagship Android tablet when it was first released. It has since been succeeded by newest devices and Samsung unfortunately decided not to upgrade the device past Honeycomb.

Luckily the developer community didn't feel the same way and have decided to bring  to the Galaxy Tab 8.9 through an unofficial CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 receives Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software update


The Nexus users maybe enjoying the newer Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but several manufacturers are still working hard at bringing Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) for their devices.

Samsung is one such manufacturer and have kept their promise to update to ICS by August and are now rolling out the Android ICS software update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean through AOSP and CyanogenMod 10 ROMs

Since Google released Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) we have seen custom ROMs appear for several devices including the Samsung Galaxy S III, HTC One X and tablets like the Asus Transformer and Amazon Kindle Fire.

AT&T provides list of ‘Which devices will receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich’


With several manufacturers providing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for their devices, it is now time for the carriers in the U.S. to start pushing ICS to their customers.

AT&T has stepped forward and released a list of their phones and tablets will be receiving the ICS update.
