HTC Flyer receives Android Honeycomb software update


The HTC Flyer is the company's first tablet which was announced in February and released in May running Android 2.2 Froyo. The device features a 7 inch touch display, up to 32GB of storage, a 5 megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.5GHz processor with 1GB of RAM.

HTC has now announced that the device will be getting Android Honeycomb 3.2

BestBuy marks the HTC Flyer at $99

The announcement of the Amazon Kindle Fire has it's competitors reeling and the HTC Flyer was one of the tablets which received a price cut from $499 down to $299. Five days since that reduction Best Buy announced another price cut, bringing the Flyer down to just $99. The same cost of the HP Playbook which hasn't been heard of since.

HTC Flyer will cost $300 on Oct 6th

The HTC Flyer is yet another device which is feeling the strain of the Amazon Kindle Fire. Best Buy will be reducing the price of the 7 inch tablet to $299.99 on October 6th.

While the information has still not been publicly released sources claim that the deal is set and ad materials have been prepared. The drop could also be due to the upcoming wide availability of the company's 10 inch HTC Jetstream, which is now available through AT&T.

HTC also announced HTC Watch, a new connected video service that will debut on HTC Flyer tablet, and will collaborate with OnLive, Inc. to launch the first cloud-based mobile gaming service on a tablet.
