Motorola Xoom for Verizon receives new software update

The is receiving a new software update which brings the JZO54M software version and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Since the Xoom is not eligible for , this is the last version of Android this device will receive.

You will receive a notification when the update is available for your device, at which point you can initiate the OTA update by clicking Install Now. Make sure you are connected to your Wi-Fi connection and that you have your battery charged before installing the update.

LG Optimus L9 receives Android 4.1.2 software update again

The LG Optimus L9 for T-Mobile is receiving the Android 4.1.2 software update. This is the second time this update is being released for the Optimus L9 as it had to be halted the first time after causing battery and Wi-Fi issues for users. Users to updated to Android 4.1.2 the first time will receive the update again, which will hopefully fix the previous issues while adding new security features.

For those who are running  on their Optimus L9, the new update will introduce them to the world of  with performance improvements from Project Butter, the Google Now digital assistant and interactive notifications.

Pantech Flex for AT&T receives Android 4.1.2 software update

The Pantech Flex for AT&T is now receiving the Android 4.1.2 software update. This means the device will get access to all the features of  including the performance enhancement from Project Butter, the Google Now digital assistant and actionable notifications. Additionally users will also receive AT&T Drive mode which is an app which helps prevent texting when driving. The update will also allow automatically resizing your widgets, which may not fit the homescreen previously.

Sony Xperia S receives Android Jelly Bean software update

The Sony Xperia S is now receiving the latest version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean,  which brings Android 4.1.2 along with the performance improvements of Project Butter and the card based Google Now digital assistant.

The Xperia S features a 4.3 inch HD display, 32GB of internal storage, 12 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary 1.3 megapixel camera for HD video calls and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual core processor 1GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy S III for T-Mobile receives Android 4.1.2 software update

You will receive a notification when the update is available for the device at which point you can initiate it. The update is 187MB in size, so users are recommended to downloaded it over Wi-Fi to preserve their data allowance. If you haven't received the notification, you can check for the update availability under Settings.

Samsung Galaxy Note for AT&T receives Android 4.1.2 software update

The original Samsung Galaxy Note for AT&T is now receiving the  software update. This includes Android 4.1.2 with all its improvements and enhancements including Project Butter, which makes your device far smoother. You also get the Google Now digital voice assistant which brings you the latest information based on your location.

However the most impressive enhancements come in the form of the updated Nature UX user interface which is available for Samsung Galaxy Note II and brings features like multi-view which allows true multi-tasking. The detailed changelog of the update follows:

Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile receives Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software update

The Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile (SGH-T989) was released in April 2011, with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.  Last June the device was updated to  and now its getting set to receive a new update in the form of Android 4.1.2.

The  update will include the Samsung's Nature UX  Touchwiz interface which is currently available to Samsung Galaxy S III and Samsung Galaxy Note II users.

LG Optimus G for AT&T receives Android 4.1.2 software update


The LG Optimus G for AT&T is now starting to receive the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software update. The update brings the build number to JZO54K, the E97020j software version, the 3.4.0 kernel, and the APQ8064/MDM9x15M baseband.

Along with the latest version of , you will get features like Project Butter which offers performance improvements over , the Google Now digital assistant and enhancements to your notifications.

You should receive a notification when the update is available for your device, but you can manually check for its availability under Settings.

T-Mobile is releasing an update for their Samsung Galaxy Note II which will bring Android 4.1.2 and the T889UVBMB4 software version. The update will introduce LTE compatibility for the device along with other improvements and enhancements from the latest version of .

You can download the update to your device over the air (OTA) once you receive the notification or by connecting your handset to your computer through the Samsung Kies software.

LG Optimus G for Sprint receives Android 4.1.2 software update

The LG Optimus G for Sprint is now receiving the latest version of . The software will carry version LS970ZVA and have the latest features of Android 4.1.2. This means you will have features like Project Butter which offers smooth, lag-free responsiveness, the digital assistance of Google Now which offers the latest information on traffic, sports scores, stock prices and more, Expandable notifications which gives you more information on the notification shade.

The update is bring offered OTA and it may take up to a week before it reaches all devices. If you haven't received the update notification you can manually check by heading over to Menu > Settings > Update Firmware and following the on screen instructions to install the update. The update should take around 10 minutes to download over 4G or up to 20 minutes on 3G, but its advised that you download the update over W-Fi to avoid data charges. Once the update has been downloaded it will take 5 to 10 minutes to install it.

Sony Xperia J receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update

sony-xperia-jSony Xperia J users are reporting that they are receiving the  software update. Sony has still to officially announce the release but the update is arriving OTA (over-the-air) for some users. If you haven't received an update notification, you can manually check by connecting your handset to the Sony Companion software on your computer.

The update is around 392MB in size and should take some time to install. Users are advised to make sure that battery is fully charged and that they are connected to Wi-Fi before attempting to update. The update will bring you Android 4.1.2 along with performance enhancements of Project Butter, Google Now and the enhanced notifications page along with the other security and feature enhancements from Jelly Bean.

Motorola Droid RAZR and Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update


Motorola has announced the upcoming  software update for the Motorola Droid RAZR and the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX. The update will carry version 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US and include all the improvements and enhancements Android 4.1.2 has to offer. This includes features like Google Now, Project Butter, voice search, and expandable notifications.

Samsung Galaxy S III with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean demonstrated in video


The Samsung Galaxy S III along with the other Galaxy series running  are soon expected to be upgraded to . The update will bring several new enhancements and improvements including the lockscreen widgets which are currently exclusive to the Nexus series.

The international variant of the original Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-N7000) receives the  software update. The update brings Android 4.1.2 along with all the improvements you can expect from Jelly Bean and enhancements from Samsung.

The update will definitely be a welcome site for Samsung’s original phablet which features a 5.3 inch Super AMOLED screen, a built in stylus with apps supporting pen input, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD, a secondary camera is available for video calls and is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy S II for Rogers receives Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software update

The  software update for the Samsung Galaxy S II has been around for some time now, but carrier branded models generally face delays due to extended testing. Rogers has been quick testing the Android 4.1.2 build and have released the update for their Samsung Galaxy S II LTE over the Samsung Kies software.

The Rogers version of the Galaxy S II features similar hardware to the international version including a 4.5 inch touch display, 8 megapixel camera, 2 megapixel video call camera, 16GB internal storage, LTE Connectivity and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update in Canada

The Samsung Galaxy Note II devices in Canada are now receiving the  software update. This means that customers on Bell, Rogers, Telus and SaskTel will all get access to the latest version of Android. It is possible that more carriers will be added to the list soon.

Sony Xperia T receives the Android 4.1.2 software update

Sony is now rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update for the Sony Xperia T in select countries. The update comes just weeks after Sony released the alpha build of Jelly Bean for developers to test.

The Xperia T features a 4.5 inch display, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 13 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a dual core processor.
