AT&T is rolling out an OTA (over-the-air) software update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900A) on its network. Unfortunately all the update brings is two of AT&T's own apps, Lookout and Yellow Pages Mobile. The update also adds Samsung's Find My Mobile and Reactivation Lock to the device.

BlackBerry 10.2.1 update rolls out to BlackBerry 10 devices on AT&T

AT&TAT&T customers who own a BlackBerry 10 device are now receiving the BlackBerry 10.2.1 software update. This means that if you own a BlackBerry Z10 or a BlackBerry Q10 on the AT&T network you will be receiving the newest version of BlackBerry's mobile platform.

While the iPhone 5 uses its fingerprint reader to unlock the device and pay for apps or music in Apple’s iTunes store, owners of the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be able to make much broader use of their fingerprint scanner when the handset launches on April 11. For example, only Galaxy S5 owners will be able to use their handset's fingerprint scanner to pay for things.

HTC One mini for AT&T receives Android 4.4.2 software update

The HTC One mini for AT&T (PO58220) is reportedly receiving the official update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 5.5 UI as of today, March 26. The update brings the 3.10.502.3 software version, which is 658MB  in size, so you’ll be asked to turn on Wi-Fi to download it on your One Mini.

Samsung announces global preview and pre-orders for the Galaxy S5, Gear 2 and Gear Fit


Samsung just announced that it’s ready to offer a global preview of its latest high-end smartphone, the Galaxy S5, and its newest wearables: Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit. Samsung claims that all four new devices “are on display and available for pre-order at more than 1,400 shops around the world beginning on March 21, 2014.”

The Korean manufacturer's newest flagship features water and dust resistance with IP67 certification. It also comes with a heart rate monitor and fingerprint scanner. AT&T is offering the phone for $199.99 with a signed two-year contract.

Samsung Galaxy S5 coming to major US carriers in April

Samsung Galaxy S5Several major carriers in the US have announced the upcoming availability of the Samsung Galaxy S5 following the official announcement of the new flagship at the company's Unpacked 5 Event. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and MetroPCS have confirmed that they will be bringing the device to their customers in April. Verizon, the nation's largest carrier is also expected to confirm availability very soon.

The LG G2 on AT&T (D800) is now receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat software update. The Android 4.4.2 update follows a system update which was released for customers on AT&T's network which prepared the device for receiving software update.

You will receive a notification when the update is ready for your device. If you do not get the notification, you can try and pull it by going to settings > about phone > software update > update now.

The update is being pushed out OTA (over-the-air) and you should receive a notification when it is available for your device. If your AT&T branded HTC One hasn't received the OTA update yet, remember that these software updates generally takes days before reaching all devices.You can also try to pull the update out of the phone by going to Settings > Phone Update > Check for update > Download now.

 Once you do receive the notification and initiate the update, it should take 25 to 30 minutes to download, and an additional 10 to 20 minutes to install. You should be on a Wi-Fi network and your battery needs to be at least 35% charged.

This update is said to support future firmware updates to your device. It is a compulsory update for your device, and it will be automatically installed to your phone, even though you can delay it a few times.
