[Android app] Facebook 7.0 beta available through beta program


Facebook has released version 7.0 of their Facebook for Android beta app for users who have signed up for the social networks Android beta program. The new beta brings several new features and improvements to the app including the ability to add photos in comments.

If you have already signed up for the beta, you will automatically receive the updated version of the application through the Google Play Store.

If you have not signed up for the beta and want to partake in it,
  1. Join the Facebook for Android Beta Testers Google group:http://bit.ly/FBAndroidbeta
  2. Tap Become a Tester in the Google Play Store and download the latest version of Facebook: http://bit.ly/121po70
Once you have completed these steps you can download the latest (beta) version of Facebook from the Play Store to your device.

[UPDATE] [Feb 25 2014] Facebook for Android beta has been updated to version 7.0.0.5.28 which brings the following new features and improvements:
  • Fixed an issue with photo tags
  • Various additional bug and crash fixes
[UPDATE] [Feb 22 2014] Facebook for Android beta has been updated to version 7.0.0.3.28 which brings the following new features and improvements:
  • Fixed an issue when sharing feelings or what you’re doing to your status
  • Fixed an issue causing profile pictures on Pages to disappear occasionally 
  • Fixed a crash when navigating from a notification to a Timeline
  • Automatically scrolls to the new comment when commenting on a post

[UPDATE] [Feb 19 2014] Facebook for Android beta has been updated to version 7.0.0.1.28 which brings the following new features and improvements:
  • Fixed an issue with photo tagging in albums
  • Fixed an issue with the action menu on Timelines

Facebook for Android version 7.0.0.0.28 beta has the following new features and improvements
  • Include photos in comments
  • Delete and edit photo albums
  • Untag yourself in photos
  • Design updates make it easier and faster to share photos
  • Improvements to help group admins pin and unpin posts, and review pending and reported posts

Facebook encourages users who are testing their Android beta app to submit any bugs they encounter by following these steps
  1. In the Facebook app, open the left nav & scroll to the bottom
  2. Tap on "Report a Problem"
  3. Carefully choose the option that best fits your issue
  4. Provide a detailed report about what you were doing when the issue occurred
