Nokia recently updated their HERE Maps for Windows Phone with a new 'Collections' feature. Now the company has published an article detailing how to use this new feature in HERE Maps to organize favorites.The new “Collections” feature in HERE Maps now allows you to organize your favorites into categories of your choice and synchronize them with other devices and here.com.
- In the latest version of HERE Maps you'll find that the star icon at the bottom right of the screen is now marked “collections” (whereas previously it was “favourites”).
- Hit the star, and then get started by selecting “make a collection”. Give you’re collection a name and save it.
- Your newly created collections will be automatically synchronised with your other devices and here.com.
- If you’ve been organizing your favourites into collections on here.com before, you will find that all those will be automatically synchronised with your Lumia smartphone.
- For others, most of your existing favourites will be automatically placed in the newly created "Unsorted" category that will appear on the collections page. There is also a “recent” category with all the places you've recently searched for and planned routes to.
Organising Collection:
- Just click on any of your favourite place and you’ll be taken to the “about” view, which now has a nifty new menu option of “manage collections”. Now from there you can add your favourite places to existing collections or create new collections by hitting the “+” sign at bottom. (Check the above image 2/3)
- You can also organise favourite place from unsorted collection- Just select any of your favourite place and repeat the above procedure.
Filter Your Collections:
When you are on a collection page, you’ll see there is a two-way arrow icon at the bottom of the screen. This gives you the option to filter all your favourites by:
- Name (the default alphabetical view)
- Distance (from your current location)
- City
- Category (streets, restaurants, shops, parks, etc.)
