Foursquare for Android has been updated to version 2013.06.26 and adds the ability to check-in with your friends, which Foursquare claims is its "most request features". Now you don't have to individually check-in at a location when traveling in a group, so now one person can check-in for everyone, as long as you give permission.You can download the update directly on your device through the Google Play Store or by using the link which follows:

The update is available for Android and iOS users and you will be able to check-in with your friends. However before someone is officially checked-in, they will have to accept via a notification on their device. So while the feature does save a little time compared to each person having to check-in individually, it still requires an action from everyone involved.
But once you have allowed a person to check you in, they can continue to check-in on your behalf in other locations, which should save time on the long run.
The check-in notifications will also be synced across users, so if you check in for your friend only that notification will appear.
