Apple has released iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2 for developers enrolled in Apple’s IOS Dev Program. The program requires developers to pay a $99 per year registration fee which gives them access to the latest pre-release versions of iOS before they are released out to the public.This beta 2 release actually follows iOS 6.1.1 Beta 1, which was released in early February. However the name change was necessary due to the immediate release of iOS 6.1.2, and Apple didn't want the recent bug fixes to cause confusion in their naming.
Apple’s focus with iOS 6.1.1 Beta 1 was to improve their Maps offering for iPhone users based in Japan. Since the release of iOS 6.0 Apple has been working hard to better their Maps solution on their device, and although the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and much of Europe have seen welcome improvements over the past couple of months, the company have stayed focused on improving services to the Asian market.
Another key feature in iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2 is the fix for the passcode bug, which was initially expected to be fixed with the iOS 6.1.2 update. The bug allowed users to bypass the passcode protected lock screen easily, so it good to see that Apple is on track with fixing this issue.
