[Android app] WhatsApp beta released with new Holo theme design

WhatsApp remains one of the most popular cross platform messaging clients which uses your 3G or WiFi (when available) to message with friends and family. You can switch from SMS to WhatsApp to send and receive messages, pictures, audio notes, and video messages.

WhatsApp for Android is about to get a much needed user interface update in the near future and interested to check out the Holo themed redesign you can download the beta version from the WhatsApp website or by using the following link:

Unfortunately the redesign has not made it to the Google Play Store just yet and you will have to enable installing apps from unknown sources in order to try out this beta.

Up until now, the WhatsApp messenger for Android has been yet another app which has been simply ported form the iOS version. Finally it looks like the developers have taken advantage of the Android design language in the latest release. WhatsApp is currently free for one year and will cost $0.99 cents per year aftre that. For those who have already paid for the stable version, you wont have to pay again to use the beta build.
