More details of Windows Blue immerge, unifies Windows Phone with Windows ?



We previously reported that Microsoft was rumored to have started work on their first update to Windows 8. The update which currently is known as Widows Blue is expected to be released as early as mid-2013 and offered for FREE as an incentive for customers to upgrade. Windows Blue and is expected to unify the Windows ecosystem and bridge the cap between desktops, tablets and Windows Phones. It is also expected to bring support for smaller 7 – 8 inch tablets.

Now new information regarding the update has emerged which explains more information on what Windows Blue has to offer.

Windows Blue is said to be internally codenamed Windows 9 Dev according to new reports and is expected to a main visual update to Windows 8. It is reported to bring resizable live tiles to the Windows platform, thus allowing it to be scaled to various screen sizes. The legacy desktop mode will be further updated to better resemble the new Modern UI.

Windows Blue is also expected to feature Windows kernel version 6.3, which should result in an improvement in performance and overall smoothness.

Until now all we have regarding the Windows Blue update are rumors, and we hope that Microsoft wont take too long to reveal some information regarding what we can expect.
