We previously reported that Windows 8 was expected to be released in October. Microsoft has now confirmed Windows 8 and Windows RT will be released on October 26th. This announcement was made during the annual sales meeting by Microsoft’s head of Windows development, Steven Sinofsky.There is no official news on Windows Phone 8 which is also set to be released this fall. We would at least hope to see some sign of Windows Phone 8 devices on October 26th, which will surely see the debut of some new Windows 8 tablets and hardware.
This should also mark the release of the Microsoft Surface and the ARM based Microsoft Surface with Windows RT..
