Apple becomes charitable

Apple's CEO Tim Cook, initiated the 'Apple Matching Gifts Program' not long after he was appointed. The program promised to match each dollar donated by Apple's full-time employees to a non-profit organization and the outcome has now been shared according to a report.

The employee donations of $1.3 million has been matched and a sum of $2.6 million has been donated. The value is quite impressive considering that the program has been up for under two months.

What we found most interesting about this was that former CEO Steve Jobs was not a fan of charitable giving and called it "Giving away money". Its refreshing to see the new CEO take this new approach in his leadership.
