Google Wallet is now live

Google Wallet is now live and is available through some major retailers including Macy's, OfficeMax, Toys'R'us, Foot Locker, American Eagle Outfitters, the Container Store, Guess and Jamba Juice. Google first announced Google Wallet back in May and since then have been getting it ready for consumers.

Early adopters are being treated to discounts between 10% - 15% which is quite decent. In addition to buying products you can also store and redeem coupons using the wallet application.

You can learn more about Google Wallet here. But the process is quite simple. You just need to tap your smartphone against the cashier's NFC receiver and the phone will interact your information with the machine. Currently only the NFC enabled Google Nexus S is supported as the Google Wallet service is in it's early stages, but we can see how this can become a easy way of making your payments in the near future.
