The HP Slate 7 is the first Android tablet from the company and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The device features a 7 inch touch display with a somewhat poor 600 by 1024 pixel resolution, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 3.2 megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor with 1GB of RAM.
The tablet doesn’t have the best hardware in its class but its build quality is better than some of its competitors. The Slate 7 has soft touch back and a light profile with a stainless steel finish on its sides, which makes it easy to hold without leaving the user feeling that they are handling a cheap device.
If the build quality of devices like the Google Nexus 7 or the Amazon Kindle Fire are keeping you from investing in those devices, you may consider the HP Slate 7 a great alternate to something like the Apple iPad Mini.
