Windows Insider Program will give you access to Windows 10 pre-release builds

Want to partake in testing Windows 10 ? Microsoft has now announced the Windows Technical Preview, which is the first stepping-stone for the new Windows Insider Program (WIP). If you're an enthusiast who loves beta's and the development of Windows, then the WIP is for you.

With WIP, you will gain access to pre-release builds of Windows 10, starting with the Windows Technical Preview. This program will give you direct access to some of the latest builds from Microsoft, meaning you are able to give feedback to the company and help shape the future of Windows. Microsoft fully expects feedback from this Insider Program, so be ready to write lots and lots of reports.

Participants will gain access to new builds via Windows Update from within the Technical Preview, which means to get started you're going to need to install the newly available Windows Technical Preview from Microsoft. From there, all you have to do is wait for Microsoft to push a new build. Each new build will include new features and bug fixes.

[UPDATE] The Windows 10 Technical Preview is now available for download and anyone willing to download and test the pre-release version of Windows 10 can download and install the update.

To download the Technical Preview, you’ll need to point your browser over to preview.windows.com and follow the on-screen instructions. After a short while, your machine will be running the Preview edition of Windows 10, and you’ll be able to dive straight into some of the new features.

Given that it is still a Preview, mind, you’re still likely to encounter some bugs and imperfections. Updates are likely to be frequent over the next few months as Microsoft refines Windows 10 in the run-up to the next annual BUILD dev conference, so any major problems should be dealt with in a timely manner, but do remember that this is not an end user roll-out, so don’t go expecting complete seamlessness.
