Lenovo Golden Warrior announced with true octa-core processor, launches on July 18



The Lenovo Golden Warrior was recently announced with a true octa-core processor from MediaTek under its hood. Today Lenovo announced that the handset will be available through online retailer JD.com, starting July 18.

Weibo members will get a special offer on the device, allowing them to purchase it for just $32, on July 14th starting at 10 AM. Meanwhile the version for China Mobile will cost 798 Yuan ($129 USD) while the model for China Unicom will be priced at 898 Yuan ($145 USD). Both variants will offer 4G LTE connectivity over the respective network.

The Lenovo Golden Warrior A8 features a 5 inch IPS display with a 720 by 1280 pixel resolution, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, a 5 megapixel front camera and a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor (MT-6592) with the Mali-450 MP4 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The device will be available in black, white, gold and pink and includes 4G LTE connectivity with up to 150Mbps speeds. The device runs Android 4.4 KitKat, which has been customized with Lenovo's VIBE 2.0 user interface.
