Google maybe planning to redesign web-based GMail

Not too long ago we got a glimpse of a redesigned GMail for Android app, which gave us a clue that Google may be planning a major redesign for their GMail app. In fact there have been several indicators that Google was working on new designs for their apps and services. Now some new screenshots have appeared showing the new design may make its way to the web version of GMail as well.

One of the biggest changes is the introduction of the slide-in menu on the left-hand side of the inbox, taking the place of the current tabbed layout. Hangouts gets a collapsible home on the other side of the screen. The current starring system seems to have been replaced with a pin system, which will help you track your important emails.

All in all it looks like a pretty clean design, but its not clear when Google is planning to unveil and release this new version of GMail. With the Google I/O developer conference scheduled for later June, we could expect to learn more at that time.
