Android apps reportedly running faster on BlackBerry 10.3

Looks like there is some good news for BlackBerry 10 users who like run Android apps on their phones. Android runtime is getting updated to Android 4.3 on BlackBerry 10.3. Those who have tested the update say that Android apps open in less than two seconds, a significant improvement over the speed at which these apps open in BlackBerry 10.2.

With BlackBerry 10.3, the Android runtime will appear on the BlackBerry native apps sharing menu. Considering that developers aren't exactly beating down the doors to deliver native BlackBerry apps, it definitely helps to have the manufacturer continue to make improvements in this area.

Other than the improvements to the Android runtime, the BlackBerry 10.3 update will bring several other new features and improvements to BlackBerry 10 devices.  The UI will now have blue accents, while active frames can be rearranged and be permanently set on the homepage. The update includes "Flip to Wake," and the camera will now allow you to take still shots while you are filming a video.

With BlackBerry OS 10.3, you can swipe using two fingers from any page to get to Quick Settings from any app. You also get a tracker for data usage, and a equalizer in the music app. You can take a closer look at some of these improvements in the following screenshots.
