Earlier this week, we reported that the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview was due to be released "in the first part" of April according to Microsoft's Joe Belfiore. Today, Joe Belfiore took to Twitter again to let users know that the Windows Phone 8.1 developer preview is coming “early next week.”
Previously several rumors suggested that Microsoft was planning to release the Developer Preview on April 14th. Now it seems these rumors may have been accurate after all and Windows Phone 8 users who are registered as developers will be able to download Windows Phone 8.1 come Monday, or Tuesday.

Keep in mind that the Developer Preview is not a final release, and users are recommended to wait for the official release from your manufacturer in the coming months. However, anyone who is eager to try out the latest version of Windows Phone can try it out, keeping in mind that you may not be able to revert back to Windows Phone 8.
Windows Phone 8.1 was first unveiled on April 2, during Microsoft's BUILD developer conference. The new update brings several new features and improvements, including Microsoft's own digital personal assistant - Cortana, Action Center and more.
