Samsung Galaxy S5 vs. Sony Xperia Z1 - Video Comparison

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is brand new, with the latest Snapdragon 801 processor, a new 16MP camera and some value added features like the heart rate and fingerprint sensors. The Sony Xperia Z1 is six months older and will soon be replaced by the Sony Xperia Z2. So lets see how will the 2013 flagship from Sony compare against the newer feature packed Galaxy S5?

Both the Xperia Z1 and the Galaxy S5 have water resistance with IP67 certification, but the metal and glass design of Sony's 2013 flagship is definitely the classier of the two. However Samsung sweetens the deal with a removable battery, fingerprint scanner and heart rate monitor built right into their device.

Even if these value added features dont interest you, the Galaxy S5 is also slightly faster and more powerful in terms of performance. Its camera might be of lower resolution than the Z1, but is on par in terms of detail, and on top of that it offers neat options like 4K video, real-time HDR and Selective Focus, which the Z1 can't muster.

However its also important to note that the Xperia Z1 is now much cheaper than it once was, as it gets ready to give way it its newer sibling, which means you will be getting good value with your Xperia Z1 for its asking price.
