We recently reported that Nokia was using the codename Cherry Blossom Pink, to identify the Windows Phone 8.1 update for the company's Lumia lineup. Now it looks like that would remain an internal codename as it has been revealed that Windows Phone 8.1 will ship as the Lumia Cyan update for Lumia handsets.
The Lumia Cyan update with Windows Phone 8.1 will be available to the entire Lumia range and will rollout to handsets throughout the summer. The update will combine the new features of Windows Phone 8.1 with "brand-new Lumia features" in a single package. Said features include "enhancements to the camera roll and Creative Studio, as well as a new and improved Nokia Storyteller app, for sharing stories as a video slideshow on social networks". Furthermore, Nokia's latest Imaging SDK 1.2 Beta is already available at the company's developer website.
Unfortunately Lumia devices on Windows Phone 7.8 are not part of these update plans and may remain on the existing version of Windows Phone for the foreseeable future.
