Today the HTC One M8 was unveiled with Android 4.4 KitKat and a new Sense 6.0 user interface HTC is calling its "sixth-sense". HTC has officially confirmed that it will be bringing the HTC Sense 6.0 to the HTC One, the HTC One mini and the HTC One max.
Even though the Taiwanese phone maker mentioned the upcoming update during its press conference, they did not give any firm timelines for the roll-out.
Having this latest update for last year’s top HTC devices is reassuring rather than surprising, but it’s still something that owners of those phones will be happy to hear.
Alongside the unveiling of the new HTC One, the company has also now published a few of its own applications (that previously were only available within Sense) on the Google Play store. Availability is still limited to HTC devices only, but by decoupling these apps from its Sense UI, the manufacturer will be able to continuously update the apps without having to wait long times for full-on system updates.
