The Samsung Galaxy S4 handsets in Korea are reportedly receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat software update. There is no official update schedule, and the first reports confirm that KitKat has started seeding to the LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) Snapdragon 800-based version of the Galaxy S4 in Korea.
The new firmware brings the Android version of the S4 up to 4.4.2 and is allegedly available for download either over the air (OTA) or via Samsung’s Kies software.
The update brings overall speed and performance with KitKat, thanks to the improved RAM managements. Reports suggest that the update also brings the latest version of Samsung's TouchWiz interface to the Galaxy S4 with minor visual improvements.
Now that the KitKat update has starting rolling out for the Galaxy S4 in Korea, it should not take long before the update is rolled out internationally. With rumors circulating about the possible Galaxy S5 unveiling at the Unpacked event on February 24th, lets hope the Galaxy S4 will get its share of KitKat sooner, rather than later
