Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini 'Black Edition' announced with faux-leather backs

Samsung Galaxy S4 Black Edition
Samsung has just announced the "Black Edition" of its Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. internally the handsets are identical to their regular siblings, but the South Korean company has decided to include its latest design element to its new handsets -- faux-leather backs.

This new design element was first introduced on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, aimed to give their flagship devices are richer look, hiding the obvious plastic materials. The leather looks quite real from a distance and you would have to handle the handset to know that the texture and stitches are just a clever design. In any case it is an improvement over the fingerprint-happy glossy panels on the older handsets.

In terms of hardware the Galaxy S4 brings the same 5 inch 1080p display, a 13MP camera and a Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor. The Galaxy S4 mini meanwhile offers the smaller 4.3 inch qHD (540x960) display with an 8MP camera and a dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor.

The "Black Variant" handsets are headed to Russia next month for $660 (Galaxy S4) and $460 (Galaxy S4 mini). While there is no word on international availability at this time, but its likely that Samsung will bring them to a wider market soon.
