Facebook has announced Paper for iOS, an app which makes reading and sharing stories on social network resemble holding a finely designed paper magazine. Paper for iOS will turn your News Feeds and related content (such as photos, videos, and longer posts) into a personalized web-magazine.
The app can be customized to serve you articles on your topics of interest such as sports, food, science, design, and more. The stories are sourced from renowned publications and "emerging voices".The service is very similar to Flipboard, but brings Facebook content aimed at Facebook users.
Paper will show up in the App Store on February 3rd. You can check out a video demo of the new application below
Paper has been built with iOS 7 in mind and is designed for comfortable single-handed operation with minimum clutter. For example, viewing high-resolution photos from one edge to the other works by tilting the device left and right. Articles "unfold" in the app and appear in fullscreen mode, bringing focus to them. The user also has the ability to prepare and post their own stories, with included preview that shows exactly how the publication will turn out.
