Asus VivoTab Note 8 announced with Windows 8 and stylus
Asus has announced the VivoTab Note 8. An 8 inch tablet which runs Windows 8.1 and includes a professional Wacom digitizer stylus that lets you scribble directly on the display.
The VivoTab Note 8 is clearly designed for single handed use, with a very slim bezel, 220.9 x 133.8 x 10.95 mm dimensions, and just 380g of weight. Its comfortable to hold in one hand as you use the accompanying digitizer for a natural writing and drawing experience.
The 8 inch display has a regular 1280 by 800 pixel resolution, which is adequate in most cases. While its indoor visibility is quite good, the VivoTab Note 8 could suffer under direct sunlight as a result of its low brightness and high reflectivity levels.
You will also get a 5 MP rear camera and HD front-facing camera, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0+HS, Miracast, and a micro USB port connectivity.
The Golden Ear team at Asus have outfitted the VivoTab Note 8 two rear stereo speakers which have larger than usual resonance chambers and sport SonicMaster audio tech, giving "rich, rounded bass".
The Asus VivoTab Note 8 by Intel's new Atom Z3740 processor, the tablet offers up to 8 hours battery life from the 15.5 Whr battery, 2 GB of memory, up to 64 GB of storage plus a microSD slot, and a free year of unlimited ASUS WebStorage.
Asus hints that the VivoTab Note 8 is targeted towards professionals and students, as it arrives packing Microsoft Office Home and Student edition.
