Today Sharp announced the world's first waterproof Windows 8 tablet at the CEATEC expo in Japan - the Sharp Mebius Pad. The tablet features the company's own 10 inch IGZO panel with a 2560 by 1600 pixel resolution, which totals to a 300 ppi pixel density. Thats the same record pixel density offered by the Google Nexus 10.
Additionally you get a full Windows 8 experience courtesy of its new generation quad-core Atom Z3370 Bay Trail processor, which was recently benchmarked as high as a Core 2 Duo processor. Coupled with the IGZO screen technology this new tablet from Sharp should be able to overtake the battery life on general ARM based tablets.
Coupled with a stylus and a keyboard folio, the Sharp Mebius Pad is definitely aimed at professionals. While the price is unknown at this time, the slate is expected to arrive in early 2014, and we hope to see it roll out globally.
