New Microsoft Surface tablets to be announced on September 23rd


This month is shaping up to be a busy one for announcements. Microsoft has now scheduled an event in New York City on September 23rd, where the company is expected to unveil their next generation of Surface tablets.

The Microsoft Surface RT will be succeeded by the Microsoft Surface 2 and is expected to be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor. Other expected changes include a bump in the resolution of the 10.1 inch display, from 1366 by 768 to 1920 by 1080. Other features and dimensions are expected to be similar to the original Surface RT.

Meanwhile the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 is expected to feature 8GB of RAM which is double that of the Microsoft Surface Pro. The updated model is also expected feature Intel Haswell processors which should provide faster performance and better battery life.

Both tablets will have a new Surface Covers to go with your tablet. In addition to the Touch Cover and Type Cover, Microsoft is also expected to feature a Power Cover which will feature an embedded battery under its QWERTY keyboard.


Even though the tablets will be unveiled by the end of this month, it will take another month before its available for purchase.
