[Android app] Facebook 3.7 beta updated through beta program


An updated version of Facebook for Android 3.7 beta has been updated for users who have signed up for the social networks Android beta program. Among the new features is a loading bar when switching pages along with other bug fixes and performance improvements.

If you have already signed up for the beta, you will automatically receive the updated version of the application through the Google Play Store.

If you have not signed up for the beta and want to partake in it,
  1. Join the Facebook for Android Beta Testers Google group:http://bit.ly/FBAndroidbeta
  2. Tap Become a Tester in the Google Play Store and download the latest version of Facebook: http://bit.ly/121po70
Once you have completed these steps you can download the latest (beta) version of Facebook from the Play Store to your device.

Version 3.7 beta of Facebook for Android has the following bug fixes and improvements:
  • Issue causing new stories to not load in news feed (at the top and at the bottom)
  • Issue causing news feed to be blank after logging in for some users
  • Issue causing the screen to go blank for some users
  • Issue causing friend lists not to load
  • Issues when uploading photos
  • Issue causing the wrong photo to appear in posts
  • Self tagging works as expected
  • Crash when organizing pages
  • Crash after clicking "see friendship"
  • Crash when logging into Pinterest using Facebook
  • Crash when viewing a photo in a comment
  • Crashes when uploading and deleting photos
  • Crash when viewing a life event phot
  • Crash when using the composer to mention someone
  • Crashes when chatting
  • Crash after hitting the back button when chatting
  • Crash when changing privacy setting in the composer
  • Various other crash and bug fixes
If you have a device compatible with Facebook Home you will additionally have the following improvements
  • Fixed lockcreen setting so it can now be clicked
Keep in mind that this is a beta version and can therefore have its share of bugs. Please do not update to the beta version unless you are aware of the risks. You can report any bugs you come across in this beta by:
  1. Open the Facebook app, open the left nav & scroll to the bottom.
  2. Tap on "Report a Problem".
  3. Carefully choose the option that best fits your issue.
  4. Provide a detailed report about what you were doing when the issue occurred.
