Folks in the United States are quite comfortable paying subsidized prices for their smartphones. So its quite unlikely that they would be lining up to pay the full $650 for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition. Especially since the regular Samsung Galaxy S4 is available through various domestic carriers. However given the fact that the Google Play Edition devices will receive software updates in line with the new Nexus devices, hardcore Android fans may find it harder to miss out on a chance to pay the extra.
The choice will come down to price initially and personal preference between Samsung's TouchWiz UX interface which offers various applications and enhancements and Google's stock version of Android, which is unbloated (if you dont count Google apps) and quick with the updates.
