Windows 8.1 - Video Preview

Many of you may know by now that Microsoft is working the the Windows 8.1 software update which will be offered for free to Windows 8 users. However until now we have only seen the update in a few screenshots and have not seen what the newest version of Windows will look like in action.

This has changed today as Microsoft has released a video which demonstrates what Windows will look like with the Windows 8.1 update.

The video shows the new Windows User Experience demonstrated my Microsoft's Jensen Harris. You can also see the new lockscreen experience and the enhancements to the Live Tiles. You can learn more about what's new in Windows 8.1 here.

It hasn't been easy for Microsoft to convince users to switch to Windows 8 with a stable offering like Windows 7 which can get any job done. While the touch experience does open doors to a new experience it hasn't been enough to convince people to retire their trusty iPad over. We think this will change if manufacturers like HP need to release powerful laptops with touch screens. Agree?

In any case Microsoft has listened to customer's gripes with Windows 8 and built Windows 8.1 to give customers a chance at the Windows 8 they wanted.

Windows 8.1 is expected to be demonstrated at the BUILD 2013 conference with a Windows 8.1 Public Preview slated to be released on the same day.
