Facebook Home update coming today with app dock and contacts dash

Its been close to a month since Facebook Home was first released and the platform is ready to receive its first software update. The update is reported to feature a new app dock, which will make it easier to get the apps you want. It will also feature a contacts dash for easier access to the people you want to communicate with. There will also be a new Dock for your favorite apps, which will appear at the bottom of the Home app tray. Lastly there will be a new Dash Bar which will replace the Messenger shortcut, which will automatically create a Chat Head and bring up your contact list when you swipe to the left.

Facebook reports that Facebook Home has generated over 1 million downloads which has led to users spending 25% more time on the social network. The company will also be adding a new walkthrough with the update for first time users with instructions on how to navigate through the application. Facebook claims that all the changes to Facebook Home with this update are based on user feedback.

There doesn't seem to be a change in the list of supported handsets, but it will be worth checking out when the update is live. If you own a compatible device you can download the update through the Google Play Store or by using the following link.
